Phase 2: when Ids reaches IOCP, LP14040P works in constant current mode.
Connecting a resistor between OCP pin and GND pin to set the constant current threshold IOCP, refer to
equation (2) for OC level setting. Connect OCP pin to GND to set the maximum over current value,

Power and Current Limited Soft Startup Sequence
FAULT TIMER
When in power limit or current limit condition, a current ICT_CHG will start to charge the cap on
CT pin.
1. When the voltage on CT pin reaches the upper threshold, the device will shut down, FLTB is
pulled to GND internally, and a current ICT_HIC will start to discharge the cap to low threshold
voltage 0.4V, then charge the CT cap to 2.4V, after 16 times charge and discharge, device will pull
CT to GND and try to start up again.
2. If the voltage on CT pin doesn’t reach the upper voltage, and power limit condition and current
limit condition are dismissed, then CT cap will be discharge to 0V with 20μA discharge current.
This hiccup operation will reduce the system thermal stress and extend the life of battery if it’s in
fault conditions.
